- Neonatal Centre / Children's Intensive Care Ward

A modern Children's Intensive Care Ward with 8 ventilator stations and 8 intensive care monitoring units is available for the care of premature and sick newborn babies. The entire spectrum of neonatal diseases is treated here. A further 15 beds are available for the post-operative care and treatment of less severely ill newborn babies.
Parents are involved from the outset in the care of their children in order to enable family bonding to develop from the earliest stages. With the provision of modern, transparent (for the parents) technology and personal attention from staff, the aim is to enable parents – in spite of their concerns for their sick child – to gain the confidence and assurance to be able optimally to support their child.
We work together with other obstetric departments in accordance with predetermined arrangements. If mother and child have not been able to be transferred to our Centre before the birth, our neonatal emergency team cares for the at-risk children round the clock wherever they are and accompanies them to the Centre with specialist equipment.
